Retro vibes from the 2000s are still inspiring the fashion world, from runway trends to makeup looks and even fashion editorials. Model Alana Monteiro and comedian Lorenzo Cromwell (better known as Renny), loving the concept of couple fashion stories from the 2000s, decided to try out this style in their new photoshoot. “We loved how the vintage outfits complemented each other. We wanted to create something similar but modern in our own unique way with our own versatility, talents and style”, Alana said.
The retro look of the photoshoot is counterbalanced by the trendy look of beige and brown shades. Stylist Liz Rundbaken wanted the talent’s physical connection to shine through the commonalities in the looks, whether matching in color palettes or styles.
Alana Monteiro and Renny also complement each other well on camera as they are both passionate about fashion. Stylist Liz Rundbaken had a great time collaborating with the duo as she enjoys collaborating with great talent in creating striking imagery and elevating brands.
The photostory was shot by Caleb and Gladys, Singaporean duo photographers based in New York City. Known for their surreal and dramatic take in creating images that are visually stunning yet always aiming to redefine boundaries, Caleb and Gladys have been awarded several international photography awards, such as professional photographer of the year UK “In the Studio”, and Harper’s Bazaar x ION Fashion Photography Awards.
Alana Monteiro is a Cape-Verdean American fashion model. She has landed covers and editorials both U.S and internationally in the some of world’s top high fashion magazines. Alana has worked with some of the industry’s top leading beauty brands such as bare Minerals, Clinique, L’Oréal Paris, MAC Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and NARS.
She has done countless print advertisement campaigns and worked for some of the worlds most globally-known brands such as Nike, Macy’s, Puma, Reebok, Fila etc. Her campaigns have been featured in over thousands of stores across The States and worldwide.
Lorenzo Cromwell aka known as Renny is an American Comedian and Actor from Queens, New York. From Season 11 to Season 12, he was one of the recurring cast members of the improv comedy show Wild ‘N Out on MTV. He has been in major films like Karen, The Christmas Lottery, Fruits of the Heart and and also tours the country with his comedy.
Ann is Bangkok-born, New York based makeup artist. Known for her versatile style from creative glam to natural, her clients include Kate Spade, Beauty Blender, Becca, Free People, Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch and Michael Kors.
Ty Sheehan is a NYC based Hair Stylist with a roster of many high end covers. He has worked with some of the worlds’ known biggest celebrities such a Hailey Bieber.
Kana is a manicurist based in NYC. She has worked for many high end magazines.
